Partnership
Challenges Overcome
Masimo partnered with Pininfarina in 2021 on branding and concept designs for the Masimo Health app and Freedom watch. In 2023, the concepts were brought back in-house and our team was asked to redesign them based on new requirements and take them to production. Along the way, we faced and overcame several key challenges.
My Role
Our three-designer team each led different features. I led end-to-end redesign and execution for both mobile and watch designs to meet project rescope, user needs, business goals, and feasibility constraints.

My Contributions and Achievements
Impacts
The product was launched internally in May 2025, after I left the company, so the impacts success metrics are primarily demonstrated by the highly positive results from our usability testing.

Product Development Process
Challenge
Initially, the project followed weekly agile sprints, but with the previous rigid structure left little room for discovery, user validation, collaboration, and decisions were driven more by leadership’s vision, feasibility constraints and deadlines than validating user needs.
Solution
I partnered with my manager and cross-functional leaders to improve the development process by increasing quick stand ups and creating more time for research and testings to ensure we’re delivering for user needs.
